1990 年本科毕业于北京农业大学(现中国农大) 应用物理专业,获理学士学位。1990-1993年在华南热带作物研究院从事植物生物技术 研究,其间参加 了海南省昌江县黎族地区扶贫工作。1993年考入中国农科院研究生院作物遗传育种专业,主要从事大豆品质鉴定及生物遗传多样性研究 ,1996年获得农学硕士学位 。1996-1997年在北京市农林科学院任助理研究员,进行小麦高分子量谷蛋白基因的转基因研究 。1997年 夏天考入美国农业部普渡大学大豆研究中心,1998年转入University of Arizona,专攻基因芯片技术,成为基因芯片领域早期研发者之一,并且作为骨干参与了美国USDA和Human Frontiers Program有关细胞色素P450基因功能研究的项目,以及美国NSF的植物逆境胁迫的研究项目,于2001获亚利桑那大学植物系硕士学位 。同年 被瑞士先正达美国研究中心Torrey Mesa Research Institute 聘任为Senior Research Associate ,主要研发高通量的功能基因组和蛋白组学技术并进行生物信息学数据挖掘。于2003年调到先正达生物技术研究所(SBI),晋升为 Research Scientist II,专门从事关键农艺性状的分子育种及功能基因组研究。2004 -2010年,任职于中国科学院遗传发育研究所(高级工程师),主要进行植物功能基因组研究,其间参与多个 973、863及国家自然科学基金项目 。目前,在苏震实验室利用生物信息学及功能基因组学手段研究植物基因表达调控网络, 重点关注药用植物次生代谢网络和细胞色素P450的功能预测。
